Submission Guidelines: Fiction

White Wolf is currently accepting submissions from fiction writers and authors. This includes any fiction based in our game worlds. We are not currently accepting submissions for new fantasy worlds or horror settings. If you would like to submit a work of fiction, please keep the following suggestions in mind:

  • Your fiction must fall within the worlds we develop for our intellectual properties (World of Darkness, EVE, Scion, Exalted, etc.). We are not looking to create new worlds; rather, we want to expand the ones we already have

  • All unsolicited material sent to us must (MUST) also include a signed Disclosure Form. If there is not a Disclosure Form submitted with the work, it will be shredded unread. You can download a Disclosure Form here . Just fill out the information, sign it, and send it to us. This is absolutely mandatory. We’re not kidding about this.

  • Please do not send us manuscripts of your book. We do not have the time to pore over hundreds of pages of text. We would make our interns do it, but they only get one light bulb in their dungeon, and they use that for warmth.

  • Please be professional when submitting your work. This means: type it up neatly and present only the information that pertains to your submission. Do not send us handwritten material. This may sound like a joke, but it is not: we do not like to decipher the mysterious chicken scratch of the unwashed masses.

With this in mind, please follow these steps for soliciting your fiction to us:
  1. Download a Disclosure Form and fill it out.

  2. Write your story as a proposal. The proposal should consist of three parts.
    • A paragraph summarizing the story. Write this as if it were the back cover text of your book, enticing the reader to buy it.
    • A plot summary of the story, covering all the significant plot elements. Try to keep the plot summary to a few (2-3) pages.
    • A breakdown of the important characters, describing why those characters are cool and different. Why will the readers want to love (or hate) these characters?

While writing your proposal, be sure to be succinct. You can fit all this information in a few pages; we want to see that you can get your ideas across effectively and imaginatively. A tight and concise proposal is what editors like to read.

  3. Send us your proposal. You can mail it the old-fashioned way. If you choose this route, please mail the material with a SASE to:

    Eddy Webb
    Alternative Publishing Developer
2075 West Park Place Blvd., Suite G
    Stone Mountain, GA 30087

If you prefer email (we prefer it too), please send your material to writingsubmissions@white-wolf.com. Whatever way you send it, DO NOT FORGET TO INCLUDE THE DISCLOSURE FORM

  4. We will review the material. There is no guarantee about the length of time between submission and response, so if you don’t hear from us right away, don’t fret. You will get a response when we have had the proper time to mull over your idea. Please do not call or email us to ask about your submission. Patience is a virtue.

If we accept your proposal, we will work with you into turning your story into a finished product. If your proposal is not accepted, do not be discouraged. We appreciate your suggestions, but there’s only so much time and money available for developing our worlds. Keep sending us your ideas; hopefully you’ll send us one that sticks. Good luck!
