Vampire Cards
V:TES cards come with two different card backs: Green and Amber(Tan). Tan backed cards are vampire cards, such as Gilbert Duane illustrated here.
Below Gilbert Duane's name is his clan symbol. A Clan is a group of vampires who share certain mystic and physical characteristics. Some library cards cannot be played unless you control a vampire of a certain clan, or only affect a particular clan. The symbol tells us that Gilbert Duane is a member of the Malkavian Clan.
In the lower right corner of the card, there is a red blood drop with a number that shows Gilbert Duane's blood capacity. The capacity represents many things, such as the relative age of the vampire and the amount of influence in pool a Methuselah must invest in him to bring him under "control". A vampire with a larger capacity is said to be older, and one with a smaller capacity is said to be younger.
A vampire cannot have more blood counters than his blood capacity.
Gilbert Duane's discipline symbols appear above his blood capacity. These are the supernatural powers that a vampire possesses. Each of a vampire's discipline symbols is in the shape of either a square or a diamond. A square-shaped discipline symbol means that the vampire has only the basic level of that discipline. A discipline symbol within a diamond signifies that the vampire has superior skill in that discipline.
Sometimes the bottom of the vampire card will have an are that contains a vampire's special abilities and political positions. Gilbert Duane holds the position of the prince of Miami, but has no other special abilities.
