V:EKN Caitiff Newsletter, November 1998 This month's offering is another winning weenie deck. The following weenie presence bleed deck was created by Mike Courtois and was played to a first place finish in late October at Crusade: Los Angeles '98. Mike has won 3 of the last 5 tournaments in Los Angeles with two of those victories coming from some form of this deck. Prior to the most recent round of rulings, Mike used Bum's Rush, Zip Guns, and Dragon's Breath Rounds to attack and hopefully incapacitate any potential blockers. The deck was still quite successful but sometimes seemed to lose its original focus as Mike would slowly revise the deck to do combat better and better. The revised version of the deck abondons combat altogether. In a nod to my Weenie Dominate deck, Mike chose to use Misdirections to get his bleeds through rather than simply trying to outnumber his prey as he had done in the past. In theory, the Media Influences should be keeping his vampires full and the occassional Tribute to the Master should be keeping his pool high enough to continue to bring out vampires. In practice, Mike said that he seemed to have a Tribute in his hand whenever he needed a Misdirection. And his vampires rarely, if ever, received a blood from a Media Influence played at superior. Not that this mattered much. Mike won two of his three preliminary rounds to advance to the final. In the finals Mike made a couple of quick (practically instant) oustings and then the game evolved into a stalemate allowing Mike to take his lead to the game time-limit. Here is his deck: CRYPT: Mariana Gilbert x2 Gideon Fontaine x2 Antoinette DuChamp x2 Vasilis, The Traitor of Don Cruez x2 Angela Decker Igo the Hungry Delilah Easton Frederick the Weak LIBRARY: Tribute to the Master x10 Misdirection x10 Blood Doll x6 Media Influence x40 Aire of Elation x10 Majesty x14
