Changeling: The Lost Trailers Contest

Changeling is coming and we need help to spread the word!

So, in celebration of our next genre in the World of Darkness, White Wolf is sponsoring a first-of-its-kind ever contest for us! We know our fans are creative and artistic, so we are looking for people with vision to create the trailers that play on our website and on the internet.

We provide the art and the basic elements, you provide the inspiration and your fellow fans help decide the Grand Prize winners!

Update (Flash Trailer Voting Begins)

The YouTube video part of the contest has concluded. We held voting for the 3 top entries, and the poll ended Friday June 22nd. The winner will be announced soon.

Overview

This is a trailers contest, not a prize drawing. You have no easy-to-follow instruction manual guiding you on the path to a winning entry. Your entry has to conform to these instructions, but it also has to be captivating - intense, exciting and inspiring.

The contest will progress as described below. The protocols of each category may change as circumstances dictate.

Phase One: Submissions

The contest opens on May 11, 2007. The deadline for submissions is June 11, 2007, though we reserve the right to extend the deadline if we want.

There are two categories for this contest:

White Wolf Changeling Homepage Trailer

Submissions for this category must:

• be in Flash (.SWF format, although we would appreciate getting the .FLA version as well), with dimensions of 300 by 150, like the other headers that play on the White Wolf home site.

• include least 2 pieces from those provided by for the contest download the art at: <http://www.white-wolf.com/changelingcontest/ChangelingElements.zip>.

• include the following text elements:

You may enter the contest by the sending your submission as an email attachment to: changelingcontest@white-wolf.com, put “Website Submission” in the subject line.

Do not let this limit your creativity! Poetry, Music ­ etc are all acceptable for the YouTube trailers. Live action, Costuming, etc. are all welcomed.

You may enter the contest for this category by up loading your work onto You Tube (wwwyoutube.com), then send an email with the webpage link to the email above, but put “You Tube Submission” in the subject line

Phase Two: Jury Review and Finalist Selections

As submissions are received, they will be viewed by Marketing Director, Kelley Barnes-Herrmann, and other members of the White Wolf staff.

Each submission will be considered on the merits of style, originality and ‘wow’ factor. The in-house jury will select a number of submissions to serve as finalists in the contest for each category. The total number of finalist submissions chosen will depend on the volume, quality and nature of the submissions we receive.

The finalist submissions for the White Wolf Website trailer will be placed in rotation on the homepage for fan viewing, while a listing of the finalists for the “You Tube” trailer will be posted with links for fans to go see.

Phase Three: Open Voting

We will have a period of open internet voting where the fans get to determine their favorite website trailer and You Tube trailer.

The winners in each category will each receive a signed advance copy of Changeling: The Lost and 2 of the exclusive Launch Day T-shirts, along with a $100 gift coupon for the white-wolf.com website.

Changeling: The Lost Trailer Contest Rules

1. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age on May 11, 2007.

2. The contest judges may at their sole discretion refuse to consider any entry for any reason. Submissions that do not follow the instructions may not be considered.

3. Changeling is a World of Darkness game, so horrific elements are expected, but the entry should not contain pornographic and tastelessly explicit material.

4. Applicants may submit no more than one entry for each contest category.

5. Former and present employees of White Wolf, Inc. may not enter. Freelancers who have been published in White Wolf, Inc. products or are currently under contract with White Wolf, Inc. are eligible.

6. All entries must be accompanied by the full real name of the author as well as the author’s physical address, email address and phone number.

7. Only entries in English can be considered.

8. Only material written for the current incarnation of the game, Changeling: The Lost, will be considered. All entries must be the original work of the author, who must be able to legally solicit the material. Copied, plagiarized or illegal submissions will be disqualified.

9. All submissions become the sole property of White Wolf Inc.

10. Submission of an entry for this contest constitutes acceptance of these rules and conditions.

11. We reserve the right to change the final prize terms.

12. White Wolf is only providing the related elements for the purpose of this contest. The elements remain copyrighted and/or trademarked by White Wolf, and no other use of the elements is authorized.
